Arcom was alerted to a documentary on the war in Ukraine shown on France 2's Journal de 20h on August 10, 2022.
It found that this documentary had provided viewers with manifestly erroneous information, reflecting a mismatch between the context in which the images were gathered and the subject they were intended to illustrate.
As a result, the Authority firmly warned the channel against any repetition of such breaches of the requirements of honesty and rigor in the presentation and processing of news set out in article 35 of the specifications and articles 1 and 2 of the deliberation of April 18, 2018 relating to the honesty and independence of news and the programs that contribute to it.
