A complaint was lodged with Arcom following the diffusion on France Info on 5 January 2026, during the programme *Le 08h30 France Info*, of a segment in which the female presenter stated, regarding the death toll from the operation led by Donald Trump in Venezuela, and in comparison with the operations led by George W. Bush against Saddam Hussein and Manuel Noriega in 1989: “hundreds of deaths at the time, whereas this time, zero deaths ”.

Arcom examined the segment at its meeting on 1 April 2026.

It found that the information regarding the death toll had been inaccurately reported, blurring the distinction between civilian and military casualties among Venezuelans, Cubans and Americans.

Consequently, Arcom summoned the publisher to ensure, in future, that it adheres to the standards of honesty and rigour required of it when handling information, especially when dealing with such a sensitive subject.
