As part of its annual checks on television service editors' compliance with article 15 of the decree of March 27, 1992, Arcom has examined the conditions under which 12 television services - France 2, France 3, Canal+, C8, NRJ 12, BFM TV, CNews, CStar, L'Équipe, RMC Story, Chérie 25 and LCI - are meeting their obligations in terms of authorized advertising volume for the 2022 financial year.
Following this examination, the Authority :
- found that the maximum advertising time authorized for a given clock hour had been exceeded three times on the BFM TV channel and six times on the CStar channel. As a result, the Authority demanded that service editors comply with the provisions of article 15 of the aforementioned decree in the future;
- identified thirty-nine instances of exceeding the maximum advertising time authorized for a given clock hour on the France 2 channel, eight instances on the France 3 channel, and thirty-four instances on the RMC Story channel. As a result, the Authority has warned service editors against any repetition of such breaches.
