Arcom was alerted to sequences broadcast in the programme Bercoff dans tous ses états on 25 March and 2 May 2024 on Sud Radio and Sud Radio +, devoted to global warming.
The Authority noted that several statements contradicted or minimised the existing scientific consensus on climate change, in a manner that lacked rigour and was not sufficiently contradictory. This constituted a breach by the publisher of its obligation to provide honest and rigorous information, as well as a breach of its obligation to control the airwaves.
As a result, Arcom has warned the publisher of the services against any repetition of such breaches.
