Arcom was alerted to the English-language inserts present on screen during the diffusion of a sequence of the European Swimming Championships during the Journal de 20H on France 2, shown on August 15, 2022.

According to the January 18, 2005 notice on the use of the French language in audiovisual media, " the principle that the use of French is compulsory in television and radio programs is subject to exceptions ". One of these exceptions concerns programs, or parts of programs, intended for an international audience, as is the case here. In fact, French channels simply receive the signal on which the inlays already appear, and are therefore unable to remove them.

Arcom therefore considered that the publisher had not breached its obligations.
