Arcom was alerted to comments about the death of a young man in Crépol made on the Face à Face program shown on November 30, 2023 on BFMTV and RMC radio.

It noted that these remarks, which could be perceived as inciting hatred and discrimination, had been made by a political figure, who enjoys greater freedom of expression, in the context of an interview shown live, and had been the subject of a marked contradiction on the part of the female presenter on the show.

In the light of all these factors, it considered that this sequence did not constitute a breach by the publishers concerned of their obligations.

The AMF also noted that these remarks had been the subject of a submission of a case before the court by the state prosecutor, on the basis of article 40 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
