Forbidden zone" show broadcast on January 23, 2022: response to the plaintiffs

Arcom was alerted about the program Zone interdite, broadcast on January 23, 2022 on M6, on the theme "Faced with the danger of radical Islam, the responses of the State".

In the light of all the exchanges, it found that the comments made had not constituted encouragement of discriminatory behavior or incitement to hatred on grounds of religion. In particular, it noted that it had been pointed out on several occasions that not all people of the Muslim faith were targeted by the comments denouncing radicalization.

Nor did the Authority find that the publisher had failed to meet its obligations in terms of respect for rights and freedoms, particularly with regard to respect for individual rights. It appears that those who expressed themselves openly did so freely, while those filmed on hidden camera were not identifiable.

Consequently, the Authority did not take any action against the service editor.
