Arcom was alerted to a segment of the Journal de 13 heures, shown on France 2 on November 24, 2024, devoted to the death of a hostage in Gaza.

It considered that the sequence had not respected the required oratory precautions: the information in question was not communicated in the conditional tense, even though it had not been confirmed by the Israeli army, and no details on the date, place, identity of the victim or circumstances of the hostage's supposed death had been provided.

Under these conditions, the Authority warned the service editor and demanded that, in future, it ensure that the issue of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which is particularly sensitive, is dealt with on its airwaves with the utmost rigor with regard to the schemes stemming from article 1 of the deliberation of April 18, 2018, article 35 of France Télévisions' terms of reference and the notice of November 20, 2013, in particular with regard to the use of the conditional when referring to uncertain facts.
