Arcom was alerted to comments made in the program Le club de la presse shown on July 14, 2021 on France 24 in Arabic.
It noted that the assessment of the defamatory nature of the comments concerned was a matter for the courts alone, under the provisions of article 29 of the July 29, 1881 law on freedom of the press.
Furthermore, as part of its investigation of the case, France 24 informed the Authority that it had asked the plaintiff to submit a request for a right of reply, on the basis of article 6 of the law of July 29, 1982 on audiovisuel communication, thus enabling him to express his point of view.
Consequently, the Authority did not take any action against the publisher.
