Arcom was alerted to the regular appearance of a guest on Les Informés, shown simultaneously on France Info and franceinfo:, and to remarks made on the same program on August 10, 2021.

It pointed out that the choice of who is invited to speak on air, whether or not they are paid for their participation, is the sole responsibility of the providers of radio and television services.

It noted that no mention had been made on air of the guest's political responsibilities, particularly in her capacity as deputy mayor of the 15th arrondissement of Paris.

Arcom has therefore demanded that the heads of Radio France and France Télévisions ensure that, in the future, for the good information of listeners and viewers, the titles of on-air appearances are made clear and, where appropriate, their speaking times are recorded in accordance with the rules governing political plurality.

On the second point, Arcom noted that the comments made about the murder of a priest by a Rwandan illegal immigrant, while initially not unambiguous, had been qualified by the interested party herself following exchanges with the other speakers.

Consequently, the Authority considered that Radio France and France Télévisions had not breached their obligations.
