L'Heure des pros" show broadcast on November 15, 2022: intervention with CNews

Arcom was alerted to a sequence on the program L'Heure des pros, shown on CNews on November 15, 2022, during which the presenter discussed the reception of migrants rescued from the humanitarian ship Ocean Viking.

Article 1 of the deliberation of April 18, 2018 relating to the honesty and independence of news and the programs that contribute to it makes provision for " (...) The publisher guarantees the validity and sources of each piece of information. Wherever possible, the origin of the information must be indicated".

She observed that the female presenter had wrongly used the term " survey " to describe questions put on their website by certain media outlets under conditions that did not meet the requirements of the legislation on surveys. In addition, the results of these surveys were mentioned without any indication of their source or the necessary caution summoned by their interpretation.

Consequently, the Authority has requested the service editor to ensure that, in future, it complies with the aforementioned provisions of the deliberation of April 18, 2018, and provides viewers with any methodological clarification that may be useful in assessing the results of opinion surveys.
