Program "C à Vous" shown on November 27, 2023: intervention with France 5

Arcom was alerted to an editorial entitled "Crépol: la mécanique de la haine et du mensonge" ("Crépol: the mechanics of hatred and lies") by a journalist on the C à Vous program shown on France 5 on November 27, 2023.

She noted that the statements reported were part of an editorial espousing a committed and assertive bias, thus benefiting from increased freedom of expression.

However, it considered that some of the statements, devoid of oratorical precautions and made in a declarative mode, did not meet the requirements of measure, rigor and honesty set by the provisions of article 3 of the deliberation of April 18, 2018, which are also included in article 35 of France Télévisions' specifications.

Consequently, the Authority has asked the service editor to demonstrate, in future, greater vigilance with regard to compliance with the aforementioned schemes, particularly when the subject is particularly sensitive.
