Arcom was alerted to a column devoted to a National audit office report on ways to improve the operation of the national education system, which was shown on the LCI program Les matins de LCI on December 3, 2021.

In this instance, the Court noted that the columnist had presented the annualized teaching hours of school teachers and associate professors, and had compared these hours to the annualized working hours of employees subject to the 35-hour working week. However, these figures do not take into account the overall working time required by teachers to carry out their duties.

She also noted that these data, as well as the computer graphics illustrating them, shown on two occasions, had not been sufficiently explicitly corrected.

Under these conditions, it considered that this sequence disregarded the obligations of honesty and rigor in the presentation and treatment of information, as well as the requirement of on-air control, stemming from its deliberation of April 18, 2018.

Consequently, the Authority warned the service editor against repeating such breaches and summoned its attention to the need to ensure, in all circumstances, compliance with the aforementioned obligations.
