Arcom was alerted about the Elysée 2022 program shown on France 2 on December 9, 2021.
It reminded the plaintiffs that the policy of inviting guests to audiovisuel programs was a matter for the editorial freedom of the publishers and, in any case, did not find any remarks whose diffusion would be likely to constitute a breach by the publisher of its ethical obligations.
In addition, it found that the on-set speakers' comments had ensured the expression of different points of view on the political issues addressed, and that on-air control had been maintained throughout the broadcast in question.
Consequently, the Authority did not take any action against the publisher.
