A complaint was lodged with Arcom following the diffusion on 10 May 2026 on Radio Nova of Pierre-Emmanuel Barré’s segment during the programme *La dernière*, concerning Sophia Aram and Gabriel Attal.

At its plenary meeting on 27 July 2026, Arcom examined the broadcast segment.

Arcom found that this segment, being explicitly humorous and, as such, enjoying strengthening of protection under the freedom of expression enshrined in the established case law of the European Court of Human Rights and the final court of appeal, did not constitute a breach by the station of its obligations.

Arcom nevertheless deemed it necessary to inform the broadcaster of the strong reactions provoked by the programme segment, the content of which had shocked many listeners.

Furthermore, the assessment of whether elements of this segment were defamatory does not fall within the competence of Arcom but is a matter for the courts.
