The French Superior Audiovisual Council, which became the Autorité de régulation de la communication audiovisuel et numérique (Arcom) on January1, 2022, has been alerted to comments made in the program Le 20h de Darius Rochebin shown on LCI on July 31, 2021. During this program, a health professional linked the increase in cases of Covid-19 contamination in overseas France to a hypothetical voodoo belief and the consumption of rum.

While the Council did not find any fault on the part of the publisher, it did express its concern at these remarks, which may have legitimately raised questions due to the stereotypes they convey, and which the channel must be vigilant about.
