A complaint was lodged with Arcom following the diffusion on 22 March 2026 on CNews of a programme devoted to the second round of the 2026 local elections, during which a guest stated that, following the election of the new mayor of Roubaix, people of the Jewish faith would have to leave the city.

Meeting as a full panel on 30 June 2026, Arcom deliberated on the matter

It considered that the remarks made during this segment – which were neither contradicted nor put into context on set, and which were not based on any sourced or substantiated evidence – failed, on the one hand, the requirement for honesty and rigour to which the broadcaster is bound in the presentation of news, nor, on the other hand, the obligation to exercise control over its broadcasts.

Consequently, Arcom demanded that the broadcaster ensure, in future, that these requirements are met.

However, as regards the potentially defamatory nature of elements of this segment, its assessment does not fall within the competence of Arcom but within that of the courts.
