Arcom was alerted to several sequences shown on CNEWS on July 27, August 10 and August 14, 2025, during which several speakers expressed their views on the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, and more specifically on the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

The Authority noted that the comments concerning the payment of monthly aid to the Palestinians were devoid of sources or oratorical precautions, in disregard of the provisions of the November 20, 2013 notice and the channel's agreement.

More generally, it noted that the comments made implying that there would be no problem with food aid, and referring in particular to an establishment selling ice cream "busier than some ice cream bars in Paris", appeared likely to minimize the reality of the situation in Gaza without taking into consideration the proven suffering of the population, particularly civilians, and in particular its high to dramatic level of food insecurity.

The Authority therefore considered that they disregarded the requirements of balanced, honest and rigorous reporting in the treatment of an international conflict.

Lastly, it noted that no one on set had contradicted or put into perspective the statements in question, and that some of the speakers had, on the contrary, reinforced them, inviting viewers to repeat or even " hammer" them.

As a result, Arcom warned the service editor against any repetition of such breaches, and demanded that in future, the particularly sensitive issue of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict be treated with the utmost rigor with regard to the above-mentioned obligations.
