Arcom was alerted to comments made by a guest on the subject of attacks on the public audiovisual service, which were shown on the Quelle époque! program on France 2 on November 23, 2025.

The Authority considered that these remarks, which only reflected the position of their author in the context of an argumentative debate and not a strictly informative sequence, could not be regarded as characterizing a breach by the channel of its obligation of honesty and rigor in the presentation of information.

It also noted that different points of view could have been expressed during the sequence, which in any case formed part of a political and media polemic that by its very nature authorized a greater freedom of tone, and that a clear contradiction had also been made to the disputed remarks by another guest on the program.

Consequently, Arcom considered that there was no reason for it to intervene with the publisher.

It did, however, deem it appropriate to refer the matter to the Comité relatif à l'honnêteté, à l'indépendance et au pluralisme de l'information et des programmes (Committee on the honesty, independence and plurality of news and programs) set up by the France Télévisions group, which may, if it sees fit, conduct a further examination of the sequence.
