Arcom has been alerted to the quality of subtitling for the deaf and hard-of-hearing on television, particularly on France 2's Quelle époque! and France 5's C dans l'air.

In fact, it has noted a significant and recurring discrepancy between what is said on air and the subtitles transcribing it on screen, which does not comply with the commitments made by the France Télévisions Group in the December 12, 2011 charter on the quality of subtitling for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.

In light of these findings, the Authority has decided to ask France Télévisions representatives to inform it of the measures the group could implement to improve the quality of accessibility of its programs.
