Touche pas à mon poste!" show broadcast on September 6, 2021: intervention with C8
The French Superior Audiovisual Council, which became the French regulatory authority for audiovisual and digital communication (Arcom) on January1, 2022, was alerted about a sequence shown on the program Touche pas à mon poste! on September 6, 2021 on C8, considered by the plaintiffs to be unsuitable for youngsters.
It ruled that the program fell into category II, according to the criteria set out in the June 7, 2005 notice to television service editors concerning the labelling of programs for younger viewers, insofar as the sequence in question was likely to offend the sensibilities of persons under 18.
By limiting the use of the "-10" pictogram to this sequence alone, and by failing to display the words "not recommended for children under 10" at the start of the program, C8 failed to comply with the provisions of article 4 of the aforementioned June 7, 2005 notice.
As a result, the Council has firmly summoned the channel's attention to the need to ensure compliance with the rules governing the way in which the youth signage is displayed.
