Recommendation no. 2012-01 of January 25, 2012 from the French Superior Audiovisual Council to radio and television services shown in the Wallis and Futuna Islands with a view to the election of the territorial assembly of the Wallis and Futuna Islands on March 25, 2012.

Having regard to the French Electoral Code, in particular Book V;
Vu la loi n° 61-814 du 29 juillet 1961 modifiée conférant aux îles Wallis et Futuna le statut de territoire d'overseas France, notamment son article 12;
Having regard to Act no. 86-1067 of September 30, 1986, as amended, on freedom of communication, in particular articles 1, 13 and 16;
Having regard to decree no. 2011-1890 of December 14, 2011 setting the date of elections for the renewal of the territorial assembly of the Wallis and Futuna Islands in 2012;
Having regard to deliberation no. 2011-1 of January 4, 2011 relating to the principle of political plurality in radio and television services during election periods;
After deliberation,
On January 4, 2011, the French Superior Audiovisual Council adopted a resolution applicable to radio and television services during election periods, which applies during the six weeks preceding polling day. The present notice supplements this deliberation. It applies to all radio and television services shown in the Wallis and Futuna Islands with effect from the opening date of the election campaign, March 12, 2012.

1. Transmission of statements made by France Télévisions for the Wallis and Futuna 1re service

France Télévisions transmits weekly electronic statements of speaking time for candidates and their supporters to the French Superior Audiovisual Council for the Wallis and Futuna 1re service (radio and television).

2. Retention and transmission of other information

The Wallis et Futuna 1re service shall keep audio or video recordings of programmes shown during the period covered by deliberation no. 2011-1 above and, where appropriate, communicate them to the French Superior Audiovisual Council.
This notice will be published in the Journal officiel de la République française and the Journal officiel du territoire des îles Wallis et Futuna.
