Opinion no. 2009-17 of December 17, 2009 concerning a draft decree amending decree no. 2007-957 of May 15, 2007 on the digital support fund.

The French Superior Audiovisual Council (Conseil supérieur de l'audiovisuel) was asked by the government to issue an opinion on a draft decree amending decree no. 2007-957 of May 15, 2007 on the digital support fund. After considering the matter at its plenary session on December 17, 2009, it issued a favorable opinion.

Concerned about the success of the transition to all-digital broadcasting, the Conseil will take all necessary measures to limit the number of households likely to lose digital terrestrial television reception when broadcasting characteristics are modified.

Nevertheless, it points out that, in most cases, these reductions in digital coverage will result from agreements signed with foreign administrations. During international negotiations, the Agence nationale des fréquences will have to ensure that reception conditions for digital terrestrial television are not degraded.

This notice will be published in the Journal officiel de la République française.
