On April 30, 2024, the French Ministry of Culture requested Arcom's opinion on the draft decree amending decree no. 2004-1392 of December 22, 2004, implementing article 20-2 of law no. 86-1067 of September 30, 1986 on freedom of communication.

The Authority adopted its opinion on June 26, 2024, pursuant to the third paragraph of article 9 of the law of September 30, 1986 on freedom of communication.

This decree lists the sports competitions that must be broadcast in such a way as not to deprive part of the public of the possibility of following them on a free-to-air television service.

The draft amendment to the decree makes provision for the list of EIM to be extended to include a larger number of women's competitions, the Paralympic Games, and a series of decisive matches (semi-finals and finals) in international competitions where an athlete or team representing France is taking part, or where the event is being held on French territory.

Notice no. 2024-04 of June 26, 2024 concerning the draft decree amending decree no. 2004-1392 of December 22, 2004 implementing article 20-2 of law no. 86-1067 of September 30, 1986 on freedom of communication.
