CHARTER TO PROMOTE THE INFORMATION AND PROTECTION OF USERS WITH REGARD TO THE DIFFUSION OF IMAGES OF PERSONS UNDER 18 ON ONLINE PLATFORMS

The use of online platforms has taken on increasing importance in the lives of the general public, and in particular in the lives of persons under 18. Their increased presence on platforms, where they consume, share and upload content, contributes to new forms of sociability, but can also have consequences for their development and their physical and moral integrity.

That's why the legislator wanted to encourage platform operators to commit to improving the protection of minors online in Law no. 2020-1266 of October 19, 2020 aimed at framing the commercial exploitation of the image of children under the age of 16 on online platforms, passed on the initiative of MP Bruno Studer ("Studer Law").
