In accordance with article L. 331-14 of the French intellectual property code, the High Authority reports annually on its activities in a public report presented to the Government and Parliament.

The law of January 20, 2017 on the general status of independent administrative authorities and independent public authorities introduced new schemes in this respect.

The Authorities' activity reports will now have to be published each year before June 1 of the following financial year. Until now, Hadopi's reports have been published in the autumn, covering a period of activity from mid-year to the end of the financial year, and only providing a forecast of budget performance for the year just ended (with the exception of the last two editions, which provided updated data up to October).

In order to meet this obligation to provide information for the whole of the previous calendar year, a new report for 2017 will be produced before this legal deadline in order to update the figures in the light of the latest available data, and to report on the final data for the 2017 budget performance and the work carried out in the interim.

In addition, article L. 331-14 of the French intellectual property code has been amended, with the obligation to report "on its activity, the performance of its missions and its means" now appearing in article 21 of the law: "Every year, before June 1, any independent administrative authority or independent public authority sends the Government and Parliament an activity report giving an account of the performance of its missions and its means."

Article L. 331-14 is now worded as follows: "Each year, the High Authority submits to the Government and Parliament a report on compliance with their obligations and commitments by professionals in the various sectors concerned. This report is made public. " Thus formulated, this mention could provide the basis for Hadopi's participation as evaluator of a certain number of schemes dedicated to fighting piracy and the use of automatic content recognition technologies.
