Arcom has drawn up an initial inventory of the commitments made under the climate agreement scheme made provision for by the "Climate and Resilience Law" of August 22, 2021.

The "Climate and Resilience Law" mandates the French regulatory authority for audiovisual and digital communication, Arcom, to promote "codes of good conduct", summoned "climate agreements", to encourage more responsible practices in commercial communications, with two main objectives:

  • the significant reduction of commercial communications relating to goods and services with a negative impact on the environment ;
  • the prevention of commercial communications favorably presenting the environmental impact of these same goods or services.

As of January 6, 2023, 141 players in the online advertising value chain had signed a climate agreement. This document draws initial lessons from their commitments, and suggests ways of improving them, in light of the managerial framework set out in the loi Climate and Resilience Law.
