Arcom publishes its report on the effectiveness of blocking measures, following a court verdict and the submission of a case before the court by rights holders, against services illegally showing sports-related content.

Arcom has been entrusted with new missions in the fight against unlawful practices, in particular through the possibility of updating the blocking of sites illegally showing sports-related competitions, following a court verdict and the submission of a case before the court by rights holders.

Since January 1, 2022, article L. 333-10 of the French Sports Code has created a scheme open to rights holders of audiovisual exploitation rights to a sports competition or event (as provided for in the Sports Code) who may, when serious and repeated infringements of their audiovisual exploitation rights by an unlawful service have been noted, refer the matter to a judge to demand blocking, and then refer the matter to Arcom to update the judge's blocking decisions.
