Summary of contributions to the public consultation on interactive services
On September 14, 2021, the French regulatory authority for audiovisual and digital communication launched a public consultation on interactive services for the digital terrestrial television (DTT) platform. The objectives of the consultation were to browse the opinions of interested players on the scope of interactive services that could be authorized and on the frequency and number resources that could be allocated to these services, as well as to inventory interactive service projects envisaged by players. The public consultation closed on October 29, 2021. Within this framework, the Authority received 25 contributions from :
- eight publishers present on DTT (Altice, Arte, Canal+, L'Equipe TV, France Télévisions, M6, NRJ Group, TF1) and a representative of these (ATET) ;
- four non-DTT service editors (Hyper TV, INA, SALTO, Opsis TV);
- four manufacturers (Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, TP Vision) and two of their representatives (AFNUM, SECIMAVI);
- two DTT broadcasters (TDF, Towercast);
- two Internet access and video on demand providers (Orange, Vidéofutur);
- a representative of electronic communications operators (FFT);
- a technical service provider (Quadrille).
This document presents a summary of the contributions in response to the questions posed in parts 1 and 2 of the document put out to public consultation. The answers to the questions in part 3, relating to the interactive service projects of the players, are confidential and are therefore not reproduced in this document.
