    As part of its mission to contribute to the fight against information manipulation, Arcom has compiled in this space information relating to the specific means put in place by platforms in the run-up to the 2022 French presidential and legislative elections.

    The major content-sharing platforms have acquired a major role in democratic processes requiring special transparency of the measures they take to fight agains information manipulation phenomena, unlawful or otherwise, particularly on the eve of major electoral polls.

    The law of December 22, 2018 on the fight against information manipulation introduced a duty for major content-sharing platforms to cooperate in the fight against information manipulation, a central component of which is the implementation of measures to:

    " fight agains the diffusion of false information likely to disturb public order or alter the sincerity of one of the ballots mentioned in the first paragraph of article 33-1-1 of the law of September 30, 1986 relating to freedom of communication ".

    As part of its mission to contribute to this fight, Arcom has compiled information on the specific means put in place by platforms to fight the risks of information manipulation in the run-up to the 2022 French presidential and legislative elections.

    It does not, however, have the authority to examine individual cases, nor to impose specific measures on platforms.
