Authorizations to show fifteen television services over the air are due to expire in 2025. Arcom has held hearings with the candidates declared eligible following the Authority's February 28, 2024 call for applications.
Context
In 2025, the licenses granted to Canal +, C8, W9, TMC, TFX, NRJ 12, BFM TV, CNews, CStar, Gulli, LCI, Canal + Cinéma, Canal + Sport, Planète + and Paris Première will expire.
In accordance with the law, on February 28, 2024 Arcom launched a call for bidders for national television services to be shown by terrestrial hertzian means, full-time and in high definition.
The Authority received 27 applications and, on Wednesday May 22, 2024, declared 25 applications admissible.
From Monday July 8 to Wednesday July 17, Arcom held public hearings at its Paris headquarters for the 24 applicants for the 15 digital terrestrial television (DTT) frequencies.
Organization of hearings
- Hearings take place from July 8 to 17, 2024, as of 9am.
- Candidates will be interviewed by the Arcom board at the Authority's headquarters in Paris for one and a half hours each.
- Arcom has drawn lots to determine the times of the candidates' hearings.
- The hearings are open to the public and broadcast live on Arcom's website and social networks.
- Hearings are translated into French Sign Language (French Sign Language) and transcribed in vellotype.
