The Authority's second study day will enable researchers in the humanities and social sciences to present and discuss their work on audiovisual and digital media with an audience of experts.

(English version of the program below for the 2023 Arcom Research Day)

Researchers are working to shed light on the functioning of the audiovisual and digital industries, and on certain phenomena that can occur within them, such as the manipulation of information or online hate. The French regulatory authority for audiovisual and digital communication, Arcom, is therefore keen to follow and take advantage of the contributions of scientific production on subjects within its remit.

At Arcom's first study day in November 2023, some twenty researchers from a range of disciplines (economics, sociology, infocom, law, political science, etc.) presented their work on challenges specific to the media sector. This event provided an opportunity for the research community to come together around common research issues, from a multidisciplinary perspective, to meet industry players and exchange views with members of the Arcom College and departmental representatives.

Second Arcom Study Day, Thursday November 16, 2023

For its second study day, Arcom published in May 2023, a call for contributions to the scientific community, in order to select the works of French and European researchers dealing with subjects related to its missions. The selected researchers, whose research topics fall within the field of audiovisual and digital creation and media, will present their work at Arcom headquarters in Paris on Thursday, November 16 , 2023.

Program

The second study day will be attended by all selected participants, members of the Arcom College and its scientific committee. The day will be structured around several themed sessions moderated by invited personalities or members of the Collège de l'Arcom. Presentations can be made in French for French-speaking researchers, or in English.

French subtitled presentations will be broadcast live, without prior registration, on the Arcom website, arcom.fr, and on the Authority's social networks.
