First digital terrestrial radio trials in overseas France
The French regulatory authority for audiovisual and digital communication, Arcom, has authorized a trial involving the diffusion of a multiplex of ten services from three sites in Martinique, from January 1 to September 30, 2023.
In its 2022-2024 roadmap for the continued rollout of DAB+, Arcom has indicated that it will give priority to authorizing trials in overseas France, so that players and the public can familiarize themselves with DAB+ diffusion, while declaring its readiness to continue the planning model prior to any calls for bids in these territories, in the light of the results of the trials.
