Alban de Nervaux appointed Managing Director of Arcom, effective July 1, 2024
Arcom Chairman Roch-Olivier Maistre has decided to appoint Alban de Nervaux as Arcom's new Managing Director. He will succeed Guillaume Blanchot as of July 1, 2024.
A graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and the Ecole Normale Supérieure, and an alumnus of the Ecole Nationale d'Administration (Simone Veil class of 2006), Alban de Nervaux began his career at the Conseil d'Etat as rapporteur to the 7th chamber of the legal section. In 2010, he joined the cabinet of the Minister of Culture and Communication as advisor for legal affairs, books, cultural industries and the art market.
Appointed head of the Ministry of Culture's legal and international affairs department in 2016, he is notably involved in European negotiations on the Copyright Directive and the DMA and DSA regulations.
A Conseiller d'Etat, he has been rapporteur and then assessor for the 4th chamber of the Litigation Division and judge of summary proceedings since October 2021. He has also been legal expert for Arcom since October 2023.
Roch-Olivier Maistre and all the members of the college and the teams of the Autorité are delighted with the forthcoming arrival of Alban de Nervaux. His legal expertise, in-depth knowledge of the Authority's fields of competence and solid experience in international cooperation will be essential assets in the performance of the regulator's missions.
