Arcep, Arcom, French national data protection agency and CyberTaskForce join forces to fight digital violence at charity soccer match
At the initiative of CyberTaskForce, Arcep, Arcom and the French national data protection agency (CNIL) will be pulling on their cleats on July 6 for the second edition of the soccer match in support of 3018, the national helpline for children, teenagers and parents who are victims or witnesses of digital violence. Charlotte Caubel, Secretary of State to the Prime Minister for Children, Marie-Laure Denis, President of the French national data protection agency (CNIL), Laure de La Raudière, President of Arcep and Roch Olivier Maistre, President of Arcom, will be in attendance at the Parc des Princes.
In France today, the average child receives his or her first digital device at the age of 10. According to a French senate report, between 6% and 10% of schoolchildren are subject to some form of harassment during their school career, and a quarter of middle-school students experience cyberbullying. According to the Association e-Enfance/3018, 20% of 8-18 year-olds say they have already experienced cyberbullying. The health crisis, marked by a sharp increase in screen time, has made the situation all the more worrying.
In this context, collective awareness is essential. This is why Arcep, Arcom and the French national data protection agency are lending their support to 3018, the national anti-cyberbullying hotline.
A trusted third party for social networks, 3018 can report harmful content and have it removed in a matter of hours, and assists teenagers, parents and professionals in all matters relating to youngsters' digital habits. Under agreements with the French Ministry of Education, the official "Pharos" reporting platform (internet-signalement.gouv.fr), the French Gendarmerie, the Ministry of Justice and 119-Enfance en danger, 3018 is at the heart of the scheme to protect children on the Internet. It works in partnership with institutional digital players and independent authorities, including the French Superior Audiovisual Council, the French national data protection agency, Hadopi, the Rights Defender and the ANJ.
To support this initiative and mobilize against digital violence, a number of personalities will be on hand: Rémi Cardon, Senator for the Somme, Antoine Clamaran, international DJ, Jawad El Hajri, former professional footballer, Sébastien Garnault, founder of CyberTaskForce, Céline Hervieu, Paris councillor responsible for early childhood, Philipp Aelis, professional DJ, Pierre-Alain Raphan, former MP - team captain, Rachid Temal, Senator for Val-d'Oise, etc.
