Arcom decisions concerning the program "Touche pas à mon poste" of March 9, 2023

Under the provisions of the proceedings initiated following the diffusion of the program "Touche pas à mon poste" on March 9, 2023, Arcom today issued a legal sanction of 500,000 euros and a formal notice against the C8 channel.

Arcom considered that the comments made during the program, acknowledging individuals for particularly serious and slanderous acts, were such as to infringe the rights of these individuals to respect for their honor and reputation, in breach of the stipulations of article 2-3-4 of the channel's agreement. It also considered that this sequence reflected the publisher's disregard of its obligation to control its broadcasting, as set out in article 2-2-1 of its agreement.

In a second decision, the Authority issued a formal notice to the channel to comply in future with the provisions of article 2-3-8 of its agreement concerning the honesty and independence of news and related programs, in view of the fact that it had shown a conspiracy theory during the broadcast, which had not been firmly and immediately contradicted.
