Under the provisions of the proceedings initiated following remarks made during the "Touche pas à mon poste" show broadcast on November 10, 2022, Arcom today imposed a legal sanctions of 3.5 million euros on the C8 channel.

Arcom found that the comments violated the guest's rights, honor and reputation, in breach of article 2-3-4 of the service agreement. It also considered that this sequence reflected the publisher's disregard of its obligation to control the airwaves, as set out in article 2-2-1 of its agreement.

In a second decision, Arcom gave formal notice to the channel to comply in future with the provisions of article 2-3-8 of its agreement concerning the honesty and independence of news and related programs.

It considered that the guest had been explicitly prevented from expressing on set a point of view critical of a shareholder of the Canal + Group, to which the C8 television service belongs, and that as a result, the program had not been produced in conditions guaranteeing the independence of the information.
