Arcom joins global network of online security regulators
Currently chaired by Australia's eSafety Commissioner, this network, officially launched in November 2022, aims to support harmonized or coordinated approaches to online safety issues.
Arcom is delighted to be taking part in the work of the Global Online Safety Regulators Network, the first structured network on the specific subject of online safety, in cooperation with all its members, including Ofcom (UK), the Online Safety Commission (Fiji), Coimisiún na Meán (Ireland), the Film and Publication Board (South Africa) and the Korea Communications Standards Commission (South Korea).
At a time when the major online platforms and search engines must comply with the obligations of the European Digital ServicesAct, Arcom, France's future "digital services coordinator", welcomes this new opportunity to promote the European model for regulating digital services, and to benefit from exchanges with a group of partners sharing the same determination to protect online audiences, while fully respecting freedom of expression and communication.
