Arcom launches a mission devoted to the uses of artificial intelligence in audiovisual and digital communication
Artificial intelligence technologies are at the heart of the activities of the players regulated by Arcom, from content recommendation algorithms to automatic moderation on social networks.
The emergence and rapid development of so-called "generative" artificial intelligence tools are bringing about profound new transformations in the way we inform ourselves, create and consume cultural content. These tremendous opportunities are accompanied by new questions about royalties, the preservation of cultural diversity and the reliability of information.
To better understand and anticipate the challenges posed by these technologies, the regulator has decided to structure its thinking. Led by Arcom members Benoît Loutrel and Antoine Boilley, this mission will involve all members of the College and the Authority's departments, and will be informed by exchanges with industry players and other public bodies interested in these issues. It will take into account ongoing discussions at European level, in particular around the AI Act.
