Agence France-Presse and Arcom are pleased to announce that the "Michèle Léridon Fellowship " for diversity in the media has been awarded this year to Nédim Tobbi, trained by the association La Chance. Nédim Tobbi, 24, attended the competitive entrance exam preparation course organized by La Chance in Marseille. After graduating with a degree in sociology from Aix-en-Provence, Nédim Tobbi took a gap year and held several jobs, including six months as a ramp agent at Marseille Provence airport. His interest in the profession was aroused during a 3rd grade internship at the editorial office of Le Figaro. He applies himself as much to text as to video and photography. This year, he completed internships at the editorial offices of La Marseillaise and Marsactu.

Roch-Olivier Maistre, President of Arcom : "We are delighted to continue to honor Michèle Léridon's statement of case and her commitment to diversity in the media by awarding the "Michèle Léridon Scholarship" for the third year running to Nédim Tobbi. The jury was convinced by the coherence of his project, his personality and his determination to pursue a career in journalism. The entire Arcom board joins me in congratulating Nédim Tobbi and wishing him a successful career in the media".

Fabrice Fries, Chairman and CEO of AFP: "AFP is delighted to welcome Nédim Tobbi to its editorial team. We are proud to help support a new generation of talent, and to continue Michèle Léridon's commitment to making our newsroom as representative of society as possible".

Launched in 2022, the "Michèle Léridon Fellowship" aims to honor the statement of case and continue the commitment of the former AFP News Director and member of the college of the French Superior Audiovisual Council (French Superior Audiovisual Council, now Arcom). The scholarship is aimed at youngsters who have completed the preparatory course offered by La Chance, but who have not yet entered a journalism school recognized by the profession.

The call for applications for the 4th edition of the "Michèle Léridon Scholarship" will be launched in spring 2025.
