Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games: Arcom completes the authorization process for France 2 and France 3 to be shown in ultra-high definition on DTT
Following a request from the French government to broadcast the Paris 2024 gaming events in ultra-high definition (UHD) on France 2 and France 3 channels, Arcom has completed the process of issuing the necessary authorizations for this broadcasting method.
The gradual rollout, now complete, began at the end of January 2024 and is structured around eight successive phases. It covers more than two hundred diffusion sites in mainland France and overseas France, ensuring coverage of a large part of the population.
France 2 is already being shown in UHD in many areas, on DTT number 52 in mainland France and number 22 overseas France. Between July 10 and September 10, 2024, France 3 will be shown in UHD on DTT number 53 in mainland France and number 23 in overseas France.
Under the provisions of the final deployment phase, authorized on Wednesday, July 03, 2024 and to be completed before the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, almost three-quarters of the population will be able to access these channels via DTT with improved picture and sound quality.
To be able to benefit from these UHD services, you'll need to be located within the covered area (available on my DTT Coverage) and have a compatible TV set connected to a rake antenna aimed at a transmitter offering these services.
