Presidency of France Télévisions: list of candidates interviewed and schedule of hearings
The French regulatory authority for audiovisual and digital communication (Arcom) today examined the applications received, as part of the procedures for appointing the new president of France Télévisions, as provided for in article 47-4 of the French law of September 30, 1986 on freedom of communication, and in accordance with its decision of March 5, 2025.
At the same meeting, by a majority of its members and by secret ballot, Arcom drew up a list of eligible candidates to be heard, and established the following timetable by drawing lots:
- Delphine Ernotte Cunci, Monday May 12 at 2:00 pm;
- Frédérique Dumas, Monday May 12 at 4.30pm;
- Mme Irène Grenet, Tuesday May 13 at 8:30am;
- Mr Jean-Philippe Lefèvre, Tuesday May 13 at 11:00 am.
Each hearing will take place in two separate phases:
- a presentation by the candidate of his or her strategic project, followed by an initial discussion with members of the panel. This part of the hearing lasts a maximum of one hour and will be recorded;
- a discussion between the candidate and the members of the panel. Also lasting a maximum of one hour, this part of the hearing will be held in camera, in accordance with recital 14 of the Conseil constitutionnel's decision no. 2000-433 DC of July 27, 2000.
At the end of all the hearings, the full recordings of the first parts of the hearings and the strategic plans of the candidates interviewed will be made available on the Arcom website.
The Authority will decide on the nomination for the presidency of France Télévisions by a majority of its members and by secret ballot no later than May 22, 2025.
