The French regulatory authority for audiovisual and digital communications is launching a public consultation on the future of digital terrestrial television (DTT) and the television medium.

This consultation concerns the use of the radioelectric resource that will be made available in 2027, when six authorizations for national television services broadcast on DTT expire.

More broadly, it is intended to initiate reflection on the future of television in the medium and long term, with a view to Arcom's publication of a white paper in 2027.

Finally, it envisages extending the scope of services of general interest to include local television.

Responses to the public consultation are due by June 15, 2026 at the latest, and can be sent electronically to consultation.publique@arcom.fr.
