By letters dated April 4 and April 21, 2022, the French regulatory authority for audiovisual and digital communication received two requests for permission for Groupe News Participations, a subsidiary of the Altice group, to take control of TFX and M6 Génération, which hold a licence to show the television services TFX and 6ter.

The proposed transactions are part of the more general strategic plan to bring the TF1 and M6 groups together.

Pursuant to the provisions of article 42-3 of the law of September 30, 1986, the Autorité has today adopted two impact studies, notably economic, relating to these operations.

These studies measure the possible impact of these proposed disposals on the diversity of operators, the diversity and quality of programs, the financing of creation and the rights acquisition market, audiences and advertising revenues, and more generally on the economics of television services.

The AMF makes these studies public. It will hear the applicants at a public hearing on July 20, 2022, and will interview third parties who so wish on July 26 and 27, 2022. Requests for hearings must be received no later than noon on July 22, 2022.

Any third parties wishing to attend may send a written contribution by e-mail to the same address by August 16, 2022 at the latest.
