Publication of contributions to the public consultation launched on July 13, 2023 and of the impact study prior to the issue of authorizations for digital terrestrial television services in mainland France.
On July 13, 2023, the French regulatory authority for audiovisual and digital communication (Arcom) launched a public consultation prior to the allocation of radioelectric resources for the diffusion of digital terrestrial television services in mainland France, in order to gather written comments from interested parties. The Authority received nineteen contributions, from a wide range of stakeholders (service editors, distributors, infrastructure operators, professional organizations, private individuals, etc.).
This study of the impact of issuing new authorizations for the use of radio resources is divided into three parts. The first provides an overview of the DTT sector, with a particular focus on the current position of terrestrial broadcasting. The second focuses on the free-to-air DTT sector, and the position of the ten services whose licenses expire in 2025 in terms of program supply, the sector's economy and the financing of creativity. Lastly, the third section will carry out the same analysis for the pay DTT sector and the five pay services concerned by the 2025 deadline.
On January 17, 2024, the Authority will interview third parties who so wish. Requests for hearings must be submitted no later than January 15, 2024.
Third parties wishing to comment in writing on this document may send their contribution to Arcom by January 22, 2024, deadline, in digital form.
