Télématin" broadcast on January 8, 2026: intervention with France 2
Arcom was alerted to the use of several anglicisms during a column on the Télématin program, broadcast on France 2 on January 8, 2026.
It noted the recurrent use of terms of Anglo-Saxon origin during the column. While some of these terms - such as " show " or " best-seller " - are included in the Académie française dictionary and can therefore be considered as having become part of the French language, which, like any living language, evolves and is enriched by external contributions, this was not the case for some others.
Consequently, the Authority drew the service's publisher's attention to the importance of ensuring respect for the French language in all the programs broadcast on its channels, in accordance with article 39 of its specifications, which stipulates that the publisher shall prohibit the use of foreign terms on air when they have a French equivalent.
