The aim of the Pôle Numérique Commun Arcep-Arcom digital usage repository is to aggregate data from multiple sources and develop a global vision of different digital practices.

The establishment of a repository of digital uses is one of the main focuses of the Arcep - Arcom Digital Cluster, created on March 2, 2020. The aim of the Pôle numérique is to deepen the technical, economic and environmental analyses of digital markets, and to support the two regulators in the implementation of their new missions in the digital field. It also aims to provide the general public with common reference data on these subjects. The digital usage repository contributes to achieving these objectives. By aggregating data from a variety of established sources, it provides centralized figures on fixed network rollouts, mobile network coverage, Internet access, receiver in homes, Internet usage, and audiovisual and creative practices.

This third edition of the benchmark incorporates new themes, such as 5G network deployment, developments in connected object equipment by type of equipment, trends in Internet traffic to the main ISPs, music livestreaming , online photography, and blocking of unlawful sports services. It also looks at the environmental impact of digital fingerprinting.
