    On the occasion of the round-table discussion on the fight agains piracy held at the Cannes Film Festival in collaboration with the CNC on Saturday May 20, Arcom has published three summaries of studies on the subject.

    Report on blocking mirror sites 2022

    Since October 5, 2022, cooperation between Arcom and rights holders in the film and audiovisual industry has enabled the Authority to update blocking measures for services already subject to a court ruling.

    Between October 2022 and April 2023, rights holders submitted some forty cases to Arcom, representing a total of 166 domain names notified to Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and effectively blocked, in addition to the services blocked under the initial court rulings.

    Assessment of actions to protect creation and sports-related contdnt

    This first assessment shows promising results. The schemes introduced by the law open up new prospects for rights holders, whose actions are now strengthened by the additional intervention of Arcom.

    In order to ensure the efficiency of the schemes as a whole, the implementation of these provisions must be agile, based on complementary actions by the public authorities and the courts, and supplemented by voluntary private initiatives.
