Under the provisions of the proceedings initiated following the diffusion of the program "Touche pas à mon poste" on October 5, 2022, Arcom today pronounced a legal sanctions in the amount of 300,000 euros against the channel C8.

During this segment, the Mayor of Paris, who was not taking part in the show, was subjected to name-calling by the presenter, who invited her to " shut her mouth " and " hunt rats at night instead of talking garbage ", lumping her in with a " bunch of morons ", exclaiming " don't piss us off " and repeating the expression " shut your mouth " several times.

The Authority considered that these remarks were likely to infringe the rights of the Mayor of Paris to respect for her honor and reputation, in breach of the stipulations of article 2-3-4 of the service agreement.

It also took the view that this sequence reflected the publisher's disregard of its obligation to control its broadcasting, as set out in article 2-2-1 of its agreement.

In view of the nature, scale and seriousness of these breaches, as well as previous legal sanctions imposed for infringements of the same obligations, the Authority imposed a penalty of 300,000 euros on C8.
