Demand for a change of control of Altice Média: Arcom browses the stakeholders
On March 15, 2024, Arcom was informed of a proposed takeover of Altice Média, owned by the Altice group, by the CMA CGM group.
This transaction is subject to the approval proceedings provided for in article 42-3 of the law of September 30, 1986 on freedom of communication. It covers all services authorized by Arcom, i.e. national television services authorized on DTT (BFM TV, RMC Découverte, RMC Story), local television services authorized on DTT (BFM services operated in various regions) and radio services broadcast on FM or DAB+ (BFM Business, BFM Radio, RMC).
Arcom will draw up an impact study for this operation, which will be made public in accordance with the law. The parties and interested third parties will then be able to submit their written observations and demand to be heard by the Autorité.
As of now, and even before this study is published, Arcom is inviting interested parties to submit their comments on this transaction and its potential impact on the relevant markets.
